Surah Al Fil

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

1. اَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِاَصْحٰبِ الْفِيْلِۗ

   Alam tara kaifa fa‘ala rabbuka bi'aṣḥābil-fīl(i).

   Have you not seen ˹O Prophet˺ how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant?

2. اَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِيْ تَضْلِيْلٍۙ

   Alam yaj‘al kaidahum fī taḍlīl(in).

   Did He not frustrate their scheme?

3. وَّاَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا اَبَابِيْلَۙ

   Wa arsala ‘alaihim ṭairan abābīl(a).

   For He sent against them flocks of birds,

4. تَرْمِيْهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّنْ سِجِّيْلٍۙ

   Tarmīhim biḥijāratim min sijjīl(in).

   that pelted them with stones of baked clay,

5. فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُوْلٍ ࣖ

   Fa ja‘alahum ka‘aṣfim ma'kūl(in).

   leaving them like chewed up straw.
