Surah Al Ma'un

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

1. اَرَءَيْتَ الَّذِيْ يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّيْنِۗ

   Ara'aital-lażī yukażżibu bid-dīn(i).

   Have you seen the one who denies the ˹final˺ Judgment?

2. فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِيْ يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيْمَۙ

   Fa żālikal-lażī yadu‘‘ul-yatīm(a).

   That is the one who repulses the orphan,

3. وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِيْنِۗ

   Wa lā yaḥuḍḍu ‘alā ṭa‘āmil-miskīn(i).

   and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

4. فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّيْنَۙ

   Fawailul lil-muṣallīn(a).

   So woe to those ˹hypocrites˺ who pray

5. الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُوْنَۙ

   Allażīna hum ‘an ṣalātihim sāhūn(a).

   yet are unmindful of their prayers;

6. الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ يُرَاۤءُوْنَۙ

   Allażīna hum yurā'ūn(a).

   those who ˹only˺ show off,

7. وَيَمْنَعُوْنَ الْمَاعُوْنَ ࣖ

   Wa yamna‘ūnal-mā‘ūn(a).

   and refuse to give ˹even the simplest˺ aid.
