Surah Al Zalzalah

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

1. اِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْاَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَاۙ

   Iżā zulzilatil-arḍu zilzālahā.

   When the earth is shaken ˹in˺ its ultimate quaking,

2. وَاَخْرَجَتِ الْاَرْضُ اَثْقَالَهَاۙ

   Wa akhrajatil-arḍu aṡqālahā.

   and when the earth throws out ˹all˺ its contents,

3. وَقَالَ الْاِنْسَانُ مَا لَهَاۚ

   Wa qālal-insānu mā lahā.

   and humanity cries, “What is wrong with it?”—

4. يَوْمَىِٕذٍ تُحَدِّثُ اَخْبَارَهَاۙ

   Yauma'iżin tuḥaddiṡu akhbārahā.

   on that Day the earth will recount everything,

5. بِاَنَّ رَبَّكَ اَوْحٰى لَهَاۗ

   Bi'anna rabbaka auḥā lahā.

   having been inspired by your Lord ˹to do so˺.

6. يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّصْدُرُ النَّاسُ اَشْتَاتًا ەۙ لِّيُرَوْا اَعْمَالَهُمْۗ

   Yauma'iżiy yaṣdurun-nāsu asytātā(n), liyurau a‘mālahum.

   On that Day people will proceed in separate groups to be shown ˹the consequences of˺ their deeds.

7. فَمَنْ يَّعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَّرَهٗۚ

   Famay ya‘mal miṡqāla żarratin khairay yarah(ū).

   So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.

8. وَمَنْ يَّعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَّرَهٗ ࣖ

   Wa may ya‘mal miṡqāla żarratin syarray yarah(ū).

   And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.
